There are many both real and intangible benefits to SACNY membership:
Business Network Interchange: an opportunity to bot give and receive factual information within the membership. This is done on a completely confidential manner, maintaining confidentiality of any member providing factual experience with the specifically-requested contractor or owner.
The SubCon News is the monthly publication sent only to members. Columns written by informed professionals covering legal, accounting and legislative information are in each issue.
Seminars are presented each month on topics that benefit members. These are an opportunity to interact with experts from government entities and business professions.
Support lobbying efforts on issues affecting the subcontracting industry. Members are a part of a lobbying effort that would be impossible to do on a singular basis!
Interact with members of the subcontracting industry to benefit from each other’s experiences!
Since membership is limited to commercial subcontractors, material suppliers and associated professionals, a completed Membership Application is required by any company wishing to become a SACNY member.
Membership is limited to any person, partnership or corporation actively, lawfully and substantially engaged in the business of subcontracting, specialty contracting or the supplying of materials to commercial construction projects who can demonstrate that its membership would serve to advance the purposes of the association.
Service companies, such as banks, accounting firms, insurance and bonding companies, etc. are eligible for membership providing they can demonstrate that they provide or have provided substantial construction-related services for subcontractors, specialty contractors or suppliers, and would serve to foster and advance the purposes of the association. Any person, partnership or corporation which receives more than 40% of its gross receipts from commercially related construction as a general contractor cannot be a SACNY member.
